"Her Zydeco rubboards, especially the patented female version, were played by several famous musicians and were always popular at festivals around the world, including during the many years she had a booth at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Rita Jo befriended countless Louisiana musicians throughout her life and was a regular at Zydeco and Cajun dances in the area. "
