Up for sale is a unique historical vintage wooden gavel featuring a detailed engraved metal band dedicated to the Orleans Parish League of Women Voters. The gavel is composed of turn-carved wood with an engraved metal band (likely silver-plated/nickel silver with age-appropriate patina). Engraved in the silver band are numerous officers' names and titles, including: Mrs. F. N. Gravois, Pres., Mrs. C. P. Chambers, V. Pres., Mrs. J. Enos Skinner, 2nd V. Pres., Mrs. Una F. Erdmann, Rec'd. Sec., Mrs. A. L. Pillsbury, Treas., Mrs. Herbert H. Hiller, Fin. Sec., Mrs. Pat Ryan, Historian, Mrs. W. D. Weid, Cor. Sec., and Mrs. Emile Bienvenu, Parliamentarian. Excellent vintage condition with natural wear consistent with age. The wood grain exhibits a rich dark finish, and the metal band shows a vintage tarnish/patina (unpolished).
