Offered here is an original 19th-century Victorian trade card advertising N. D. Lamb, wholesale and retail dealer in foreign and domestic fruits, confectionery, and toys, located at 125 Main Street, Norwich, Connecticut.
The front features a finely detailed color lithograph of a foxhunter on horseback leaping a stone wall, a classic sporting scene popular in late-Victorian advertising. The artwork is well-executed with strong color saturation and crisp line work, making it desirable both as ephemera and as decorative Americana.
Condition is very good for age. The card shows light toning and minor age-related wear, with some faint staining visible on the reverse. No major creases, tears, or losses. Displays beautifully.
A great example of Connecticut advertising ephemera, equestrian imagery, and Victorian commercial art.
