Up for sale is a beautiful religious figurine depicting Saint Francis of Assisi embracing Jesus Christ on the Cross, inspired by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo’s famous 17th-century devotional painting. Features St. Francis in his traditional Franciscan habit with knotted waist cord, holding the body of Christ on the crucifix. The top of the cross features the INRI scroll banner. The statue itself is composed of hand painted resin mounted on top of an octagonal wooden base. Pre-owned vintage condition with natural-looking finish. Shows handwritten numbers on the bottom base.
