Very beautiful trench art that has Sedan 1918 etched inside of a heart. The shell casing is marked 1915, Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe.
In 1918, the city of Sedan, France, was a key objective in the final Allied offensive of World War I. It was strategically important due to its location on a vital railway line used by the German army. The American Expeditionary Force, along with French forces, aimed to capture Sedan to disrupt German supply lines and hasten the end of the war. The city was liberated on November 11, 1918, the same day the armistice was signed.
