Here's a striking pair of large cast brass deer, each shown in a resting pose with legs tucked beneath them. Each figure is heavily detailed with engraved floral medallion patterns and paisley-style borders across the back, and stylized facial features including incised almond-shaped eyes. The antlers are nicely modeled with a ribbed texture .These would have originally been a true facing pair — one deer looking left, one looking right — designed to flank a fireplace, bookshelf, or entry table. Both pieces have substantial weight and good solid castings.

As for condition: both deer show an attractive aged brass patina overall, with darker tarnish settled into the engraved details (which actually helps the decorative patterns pop) and brighter, more polished brass on the raised/high-touch areas like the backs and antler tips.
