Antique German Bisque Doll Simon & Halbig G.B. Large 24" George Borgfeldt Bonnet Gown

Authentic turn-of-the-century (circa 1895–1915) German antique bisque doll crafted by Simon & Halbig for distributor/importer George Borgfeldt & Co. Clearly and deeply incised on the back of the bisque head: "SIMON & HALBIG / G B". The doll itself features a matte bisque socket head with feathered multi-stroke eyebrows, painted upper and lower eyelashes, dark blue/gray glass sleep eyes, and an open mouth with four molded upper porcelain teeth. Finished with long, wavy brown/brunette hair. it is dressed in an elaborate period-style layered ensemble featuring a soft pastel pink pleat-front dress with a wide ruffled lace collar, matching gathered ruffle-brim sunbonnet, lace-trimmed bloomers/pantaloons, knit ribbed stockings, and cream vintage lace-up booties. Excellent antique condition. Bisque head is in tact and good condition, with one minor scratch on the cheek. Period garments reamin in near perfect condition, except one slight stain on the back of the dress. Facial painting remains vivid and undamaged. Sleep eye mechanism is intact and functional.
