Original 1944 complimentary concert ticket issued in Cairo, Egypt, during World War II. The concert was presented under the high patronage of H.M. King Farouk I and featured world-renowned soprano Lily Pons with conductor Andre Kostelanetz, accompanied by the combined RAMC and Cairo Area Orchestras of the United States Army Forces in the Middle East.
Held at Ewart Memorial Hall at the American University in Cairo on July 8, 1944. Issued to “Mrs. Needham,” handwritten at top. Blank reverse. A scarce example of WWII overseas U.S. Army music ephemera connecting classical music, wartime morale, and Middle Eastern history.
